Beckertime - THE HISTORY OF THE Submariner ROLEX

The Submariner, part of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual line, was introduced to the world in 1954 at the Basel spring fair, and has since then been recognized all over

the world as the innovator in diving watches. The Submariner was the first watch to be waterproof to a depth of 100 meters and, Rolex invented the patented Triple

Crown Lock for the watch.

The Submariner is tested at much stronger pressures than the guaranteed depth. Rolex has made use of the popularity of the Submariner among celebrities, such as Jacques

Cousteau, by marketing its connection to undersea discovery. The Submariner has undergone dozens of changes and modifications over the years.

When the Submariner was first manufactured it came with pencil style hands and without the distinctive “Submariner” imprinted on the dial. In 1954 the Submariner ref

number 6200 used the Mercedes hand set, which is now so familiar to the contemporary Rolex owner. The ref number 6200 also came with an oversized winding

crown. Later in the nineteen fifties Rolex began to produce the Submariner with a small crown version, (6536) and an oversized crown version, (6538). Also the Submariner logo

and a depth rating was printed on the dials. In the nineteen sixties Rolex continued to improve the Submariner. Shoulders were placed on the side of the watch to protect the

winding mechanism. A date complication was added and the oversized crown became the standard in Submariner watches.

The movements and waterproofing have been updated, the luminous properties on the hands and dial have been upgraded and the classic model of sports watches has evolved

into the ultimately functional fashion accessory. The uniqueness of each watch from the various production years is a big part of why the Submariner is a sought after watch for

buyers and sellers. With the Submariner, Rolex set the standard for diving watches and functional fashion alike.

Beckertime - WHY A ROLEX AND NOT OTHERS?

WHY A ROLEX AND NOT OTHERS?

If you’re in the market for a high quality watch then there is no question that Rolex is the timepiece you are looking for. Rolex has been making the finest watches in the

world since 1908, and no other watch manufacturer can match Rolex in high standards and utmost quality. Whether it is to commemorate some milestone event or

to accessorize in the most stylish fashion, Rolex is the first and last name in luxury watches.

Rolex set the standard of quality with a dedication to the pursuit of chromatic precision. The Rolex Oyster was the first watch to contain a self-winding mechanism with a

perpetual motor. Patented by Rolex in 1931 this feature is emulated by many mechanical watch makers. Rolex developed the blue parachrom oscillator hairspring,

which is resistant to the magnetic disturbance that affects lesser quality hairsprings made with ferromagnetic materials. Rolex is also a pioneer in watching making in terms

of quality and practical use. The vision of Hans Wilsdorf brought the wrist watch into popularity during the early decades of the 20th century, and many innovations that

come from the Swiss timepiece manufacturer are still widely used today. The Oyster led the way in waterproof and dustproof timepieces and the Submariner is waterproof at

proof up to 100 meters of depth.

A Rolex watch often contains precious gems and diamonds so the value of a Rolex is found not only in the fine craftsmanship that goes into the creation of the watch, but

also in the design and quality of the materials that are used. Rolex only uses Gold, Platinum and Stainless Steel in its Oyster watches. Rolex uses a sweeping second hand

movement, ticking 5-8 times per second, and this movement is a signature element of the high quality of the watch.

When you are looking for a watch that makes a statement about who you are there is no better choice than Rolex. The highest quality and excellent craftsmanship of Rolex

seamlessly blends functionality and style. There are other brands of watches and there are even other very fine watches but if it’s the status symbol of great timepieces you’re

looking for then Rolex is the only watch you need.

Beckertime - WHAT AFFECTS THE ACCURACY OF A ROLEX?

It might come as a surprise that Rolex is not one hundred percent accurate for the life of the watch, but the slight fluctuations are a byproduct of the care and quality

that goes into the manufacturing of a Rolex. They are impeccably calibrated to the conditions in which they are produced, and taking the watch out of that environment

can cause changes.

A Rolex can actually lose or gain time. There are adjustments that can be made to mitigate these fluctuations, but every mechanical watch stands to lose or gain a few

minutes over time and needs to be recalibrated occasionally. The Rolex is no different and there are other important considerations when choosing a luxury watch, such as

style and durability.

The reasons for these fluctuations may have to do with the altitude of the user and not the function of the watch itself. A Rolex is calibrated to run at a certain speed when

fully wound, and is operational at the settings of altitude and temperature where it is manufactured. Higher and lower altitudes may cause a slight variation in the readings of

a Rolex and slight manual adjustments might be necessary from time to time. A Rolex might go through several climates and altitudes, from the manufacturer to the

establishments where they are sold. In general a Rolex is calibrated to the local surroundings before it is sold to a customer. A local jeweler who is familiar with Rolex

can be able to calibrate your watch to the immediate altitude and temperature,  however if you travel to higher or lower altitudes your Rolex may need slight manual

alterations.

Occasionally a rough shipping trip and/or altitude & temperature variations experienced in transit can cause a watch to not run properly. Pressure of trapped air molecules

inside the case can cause either expansion or compression on the parts of the movement. Of course, this even happens to brand new watches when Rolex ships from

Switzerland to an authorized Rolex dealer. The adjustments of decompression and calibration are usually made before the watch is sold to the customer.

Regardless of slight fluctuations Rolex is the world leader in stylish and luxurious timepieces, and is the finest watch you can buy. With high standards of craftsmanship

and the utmost care in manufacturing, Rolex is the most popular and most sought after watch in the world.

Beckertime -WHY BUY A PRE-OWNED ROLEX, It's About the MONEY

When shopping for a Rolex watch deciding whether to purchase a used or new timepiece can be difficult. Buying a pre-owned Rolex is a great way to

find that perfect watch that you’ve been searching for. The best reason to buy a pre-owned Rolex is the value. You can find a fantastic watch for considerably less

than the cost of a new one, and in today’s economy who isn’t looking for value?

Wearing a brand new Rolex on your wrist is a great feeling but as soon as you walk out of the store the value of that shinny new Rolex depreciates significantly. Like a new car,

driving it off the lot causes an instant loss of value. When you purchase a used Rolex you don’t pay for the initial mark down, and a pre-owned Rolex is just as luxurious as a

new one.

The finest watch makers in the world often individualize their watches by year. Sometimes the Rolex that you are looking for was only made in a past manufacturing

cycle. The styles and models have evolved over the more than one hundred years since Rolex first started making watches. Searching through jewelry stores and sorting

through web sites is a great way to find that rare Rolex that your grandmother used to wear, or replace a special watch that was lost or stolen, and if the watch is no longer

being manufactured by Rolex it is the only way to find it.

Rolex is the most sought after watch in the world, and wonderfully completes the wardrobe of those with stylish tastes. Consider buying a Rolex as an investment, rather

than a luxury. They hold their value over time and are durable so that reselling a Rolex is never a hassle. A pre-owned Rolex is the best way to ensure you get the most value

for your money and you will never be disappointed. A fabulous present, the perfect accessory and the most respected watch in the world, Rolex is the timepiece that you

are looking for.

The Truth About Beckertime

My name is Matthew Becker and I am the founder and CEO of Beckertime. I want to specifically address the derogatory reports that can be found on the Internet about my company and companies like me. The report, which comes up in the Google search engine is false and I will prove it. I feel it is always good to see something for what it is...especially since I have spent more than 12 years doing right for my customers.

My company maintains one of the most solid reputations in selling pre-owned Rolex watches in the world, evidenced by our more than 10 years on eBay. We are a member of many professional organizations including the JVC (Jeweler's Vigilance Committee), the Industry's Guardian of Ethics and Integrity. Beckertime is eBay’s largest provider of pre-owned Rolex watches where we earned the highest eBay power seller designation, “Top Rated Seller”. We maintain a lifetime positive feedback ratio of 99.9% with more than 13,750 total feedbacks left, and never once a comment of selling anything fake. Our detailed seller ratings are near perfect with 4.9 out of 5 stars for items being as described, communication and shipping. Furthermore, we offer an Unconditional Money Back Guarantee on all items. We invest a lot of effort to ensure that every customer walks away with a positive experience.

In December 2008, a derogatory report showed up in the Google search engine about our company. This report was filed by an individual that did not purchase anything from us, but falsely said he did. In that same month he copied the complaint word for word on other buyer beware" websites and then again in April 2009 where he recommends another Rolex company that he says people should buy from.

To further prove all the complaints are bogus this guy also copied the same remarks for 2 other Rolex sellers within the same 37 hours of leaving the initial complaint. The first with the exact same remarks as mine was left 6 minutes prior to my bogus complaint

and the second left 37 hours later:

http://ripoffreport.com/reports/0/401/RipOff0401145.htm

This would lead me to believe this is a competitor as the writer does not seek a remedy, but rather chooses to publish derogatory statements about selected Rolex sellers in this industry. His actions do not follow any "common sense." For instance, if he would go through the trouble of contacting the FBI and BBB, you would expect him to also leave negative feedback on eBay. However, since this guy did not buy anything from us, he was not able to leave negative feedback. Also there would be posts found on the BBB website that shows the complaint...and my BBB shows no complaints since our inception in 1998.

It is very easy for anyone to post anything about anyone on the Internet. You should try searching the Rip Off Report or any of these "buyer beware" Websites...as you will see that by some estimates, about 50% of the complaints are bogus...either by competitors or ex employees with a grudge. Unfortunately, since the online world and "blogosphere" is so new, laws have not caught up with the system to protect merchants and people against this type of behavior...and many buyers lose out on purchasing the products they want due to cyber fear generated by lies.

This in summary is one of the hidden challenges a high profile seller goes through. Anyone or any company can fall victim for this...it’s a form of cyber bullying. If you hate someone, it is so easy to destroy someone's reputation. There is very little that can be done especially when the Internet adds the cloak of anonymity for the bad guys. Only companies with amazingly deep pockets can have any chance at going after these guys that hurt legitimate sellers like myself.

Please respond back with your comments. I hope I have answered all your questions and concerns...I feel communication and full transparency is key to trust.

Thanks,

Matthew Becker
